Stability Analysis of USV in Rough Sea Conditions
Hydrodynamic Performance Evaluation in Beaufort Scale 2 Conditions
Project Overview :
Conducted stability and performance analysis for an Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) operating in rough sea conditions (Beaufort Scale 2) for a marine company in Singapore.
Key Contributions :
Implemented overset mesh techniques for accurate wave-vessel interaction modeling
Employed 6 Degrees of Freedom (6 DOF) analysis to capture complete vessel dynamics
Simulated wave-current interactions under specified sea state conditions
Analyzed stability metrics including roll, pitch, and heave responses
Outcome :
Characterized USV dynamic behavior in specified sea conditions
Generated quantitative stability performance data
Provided validated simulation results for engineering evaluation
Tools : CRADLE CFD (scFLOW)
